So you have tru installed and you’re ready to start setting it up? The tru setup is very simple, let’s dive right in.
Enable tru Features
First sign into your website and navigate to the SPYR > tru Options panel.
On your tru Options panel the first options you’ll see are for the tru Features. By default Grayscale Images and Infinite Scroll are activated. If you wish to enable or disable any of the main tru Features simply click to select or un-select the item and press Save Settings.
Enter your tru License Key
Within 48 hours of your tru purchase you received an email with your tru License Key. Retrieve your key from that email, return to your SPYR > tru Options panel, scroll to the Automatic Theme Updates section, enter your key, and click Save Settings.

Configure your tru Feature Area
Next you’ll want to configure your tru Feature Area.
Navigate to Appearance > Widgets and remove all widgets from the Feature Area. To remove a widget simply click the arrow to expand, and press Delete. Alternatively, if you’ve already configured some widgets and wish to use them later, instead of pressing Delete, drag those widgets to the Inactive Widgets area.
(tru) Notify Bar
Drag the (tru) Notify Bar to the Feature Area. This is a good area to place a note about your latest project, such as a book or public event.
An anchor is a clickable link. To add an anchor to this area simply wrap your link text in an <a> tag as follows.
This is text and <a href="http://spyr.me">this is an anchor</a>
(tru) Two Column Text
Next drag the (tru) Two Column Text widget into the Feature Area.
Enter your image into the Left Column using the <img> tag.
<img src="http://yourwebsite.com/your-photo.jpg" alt="This is a description of the image" />
And enter any text of your choosing into the Right Column and click Save.
(tru) Subscribe & Social
Finally drag the (tru) Subscribe & Social into the Feature Area. Refer to the documents below for further information about configuring this widget.
- Configure (tru) Subscribe & Social to Use Aweber

Add your Menu
Finally you’ll want to configure your menu, but you can only complete this step after adding pages to your site. Once you add your pages navigate to Appearance > Menus. Once there Create a Menu, add menu items, check the Navigation Area checkbox, and click Save Menu.
Install Plugins (optional)
The only remaining step is optional. There’s a small list of plugins that we install on every site, both for us and for our clients. None of these plugins are required, but we wholeheartedly recommend each of the following:
